Singapore Student Visa

Visa application process:

The following steps are to be followed for visa application:

  1. Visa Processing Fee (SGD 30): It is a non-refundable advance charge that must be paid when submitting your application to the Singapore ICA. If you opt to use the SOLAR system to submit your student pass application, you must pay the processing charge using your online banking account or a debit/credit card.
  2. Visa Issuance Fee (SGD 60): If you want to leave and return to Singapore during your academic program, you must pay a multiple-entry fee of SGD 30. When you pick up your student pass, you must pay the issuance and multi-entry costs.
  3. Offer Letter from the Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) in Singapore
  4. Passport
  5. Four passport size color photographs
  6. Bank Statements - Funds to be shown = Tuition fee + 8400 S$
  7. Completed Student Visa Application Forms – ICA form 16 & Form V36
  8. Test scores that your college required, such as the IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, GRE, or GMAT

Scholarships

Scholarship to Study in Singapore for Indian Students:

Singapore Millennium Foundation Scholarship: This scholarship is offered only to PhD Candidates who aim to take up the doctoral course in engineering, environmental science, physical and material sciences, renewable resources and water, and life sciences are eligible.

Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship From NUS: This scholarship is offered to undergraduate courses in computers, engineering or science (excluding pharmacy). Students from Asian countries are eligible except students from Singapore. However, students who apply for a full-time undergraduate degree at NUS are automatically screened for the scholarship. This is yet another Scholarship in Singapore for Indian Students.

Singapore International Graduate Award: The scholarship is offered to candidates who are aiming to pursue PhD programs in science and engineering. Moreover, prospective international students with excellent academic grades are eligible to apply for this. One can do their research at pioneer institutes in the country, such as the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). A total of 240 scholarships apply every year. It offers financial assistance for up to four years.

Lee Kong Chian Graduate Scholarships At National University Of Singapore (NUS): Candidates seeking admission to PhD at the National University of Singapore (NUS) are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applications are invited twice a year (in sync with admissions intakes of August and January). It is a well-known Scholarship in Singapore for Indian Students.

Accommodation

Simply put, these are the options available within the University Campus. The available options are student halls (with or without meals), studio apartments as well as family accommodation. The availability of these is often further divided for undergraduates, graduates and research scholars as well as for single or married students (travelling with spouse). There are many Public and Private universities as well as International Universities with campuses in Singapore. While all offer top class education, there is no reason to believe that all would offer you an on-campus accommodation.
